Adjusting your portfolio back to your intended allocation when it has drifted due to price movements.

If you intended to hold 80% equities and 20% sukuk, and equities have performed well, your portfolio might have drifted to 90%/10%. Rebalancing means selling some equities and buying sukuk to return to your target.
