Purification
Donating the small portion of investment returns that may have come from non-compliant sources.
Even Shariah-screened companies may have a small percentage of income from non-compliant activities (typically under 5%). Purification means calculating that percentage of your returns and donating it to charity, thereby cleansing your earnings.
